Dr. Pilet earned his first Ph.D. from the University of South Florida, specializing in Psycho-Educational Techniques for Adult Learners. His internationally referenced research on anger management led to the creation of a research-validated Anger Management Program. He has also trained numerous mental health interns in innovative methods for addressing both suppressed and expressed anger issues.
In addition to his Ph.D. from USF, Dr. Pilet holds a second Ph.D. in Theology and three Master’s Degrees in Social Work, Criminal Justice, and Management. A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida, he serves as a Senior Social Worker, actively supervising individuals seeking licensure under Chapter 491 of Florida statutes.
Dr. Pilet’s clinic, located in Hillsborough County, was the first to achieve state certification in domestic violence treatment. He played a key role in organizing initial training and certification programs at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa. As the Liaison for the 1993 Governor’s Domestic Violence Initiative, his contributions included researching and compiling materials for committee review, which ultimately shaped the 1996 Florida Domestic Violence Law. His dissertation on the impact of anger management within a 26-week domestic violence program has gained international recognition and application.
Certified as a First Responder, Dr. Pilet has been deployed to assist in national disasters, including the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. He also holds memberships and certifications such as being part of the Family Court Advisory Council, a State Certified Domestic Violence Assessor and Facilitator, and a Certified First Responder.
Dr. Pilet is a retired Major from the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an officer for over two decades, including two tours in combat. His military service earned him more than 30 awards and decorations. Since retiring in 1997, he has continued his work as the Director of the Men’s Program at Interventions, where he serves as a trainer, assessor, facilitator, and psychotherapist. His award-winning book, Love: Lost & Found, is now in its third edition.
Together with his wife, Cary Pilet, Dr. Pilet co-hosted the weekly radio show Solemates2Soulmates, which aired on IRNBROADCAST.COM and Tantalk1340.com, building a significant audience with their engaging weekly content.
